Griddlers Cafe is a 24hr restaurant serving breakfast all day, as well as hamburgers, grilled and deli style sandwiches and soups. We serve comfort food, made-to-order, at an attractive price.

What makes Griddlers Cafe different than George Webbs?

We have the freedom to be more creative with our menu innovations and more responsive to our customers needs. Some of the menu changes will include:

* Hamburgers and double cheeseburgers that are 50% bigger and served on premium buns.
* More lunch offerings with new and creative deli-style sandwiches served only during the lunch hour and not all day, so we can give attention to what and how they are served.
* homemade soups and "firehouse chili" made with our own special blend of signature spices and a wider variety of condiments and add-ons.
* Our own special blend of premium coffee beans and flavors, ground on premises.

shit, its been what, 75+ years of GWs?  not in those specific locations, but even 30 yrs is a long long time to run with 1 name, when every few months you have competition opening up all around you pulling your customers away.

And every few months later that new competition closes and people continue to flock to that 75+ year old GW.

yeah, I have the official statement release, along with a handful of $2.99 coupons, from the Webb's down the block from me...got all the details from the staff.  Their contract has been up for some time now, an agreement on franchise fees couldn't be arranged with Webb's corporate, so they took the spring and summer to evaluate what type of success they could have branched out on their own....they realized (as most fanchises do) that the corporate end doesn't really do much other than advertise the Webb's name.  so, knowing they have their own built up regulars, they took a chance...did some surveys/comment cards, to see what customers would like, got their results...and came up with the new image.  staff will be wearing some sort of polo shirts, and I think the color scheme is said to go tan and black.

I still remember the night that my friend drove us from downtown all the way out to South Milwaukee for Webbs at 3am. Must've passed lord only knows how many restuarants on that route. Good times.

Just seen the Denny's comment - and reminds me of all the news stories with incidents at Denny's. Makes me glad I've never been to one in a decade now.
