If this was the case, that she paid into the system (insurance) her entire working life, and when it came time to actually receive something from what she paid into - and refused .... she probably used her savings to get by which IMHO is foolish.
People against unemployment tend to forget that they are paying into it no matter what and they cannot opt out. So if this is the case, they are simply refusing to collect based on some misconceived moral/principle.
As I said - refusing a check from your insurance company to cover the costs of home damages, a totaled vehicle, medical bills, etc is the same thing as refusing to file for unemployment.
so if you didn't collect unemployment and had no job how did the rent get paid?! * confused*
also, when people state an opinion and assume it makes it fact makes me sigh.
