Dave Sobelman of Sobelman's Pub & Grill and Tallgrass Grill has his eye on the former Angelo's Pizza building, 1601 W. Wells St.
He's working on a deal to lease the building from Marquette University; Sobelman said he couldn't say anything further now.
Angelo's longtime proprietor Dominic "Donny" Albano sold the property to the university in 2010 after he learned he was sick with pancreatic cancer; the restaurant had been a campus fixture for decades. Albano died in January.
Sobelman's Pub & Grill, known for its burgers, is at 1900 W. St. Paul Ave. Sobelman and his wife, Melanie, opened the Tallgrass Grill at 1952 N. Farwell Ave. in 2009.
